Job Summary:
This position will provide technical support at Crane, IN, with responsibility for performing maintenance, installation, fabrication, test and evaluation, sustainment, and troubleshooting support on military wheeled vehicles.
Essential Functions:
- Reads blueprints and diagrams, determines materials needed, estimates time and material costs on installations, and requests supplies to assure timely and adequate availability.
- Installs, repairs and maintains keys and locks.
- Inserts new or repaired tumblers into lock to change combination.
- Moves lock pick in cylinder to open door locks without keys.
- Installs locks and lock systems with different hardware and carpentry methods.
- Maintains records, inventory for locks, keys, spare parts, tools, and equipment.
- Uses key cutting machine to cut new or duplicate keys.
- Troubleshoots and repairs electronic lock systems.
- Must be able to work independently to troubleshoot lock issues at secure areas and respond quickly when emergency access is required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience and Skills:
- High School diploma required.
- Valid Locksmith license preferred, but not required. On the job training will be provided.
- Must be able to complete certifications for professional locksmith duties, including GSA Safes and other training.
- Must have strong mechanical aptitude and be familiar with all hand tools, drills, coring equipment, etc.
- Some lifting of medium and/or heavy equipment and tools.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills to work with clients, team members, and management staff, including both DoD civilian, uniformed military, and contractor personnel
