What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process / Mechanical Pipe / Plumbing Estimator position at TCS Mechanical?
Texas Critical Systems is a mechanical and plumbing contractor established in the greater Austin area and has been in business since May of 2017. Our focus is in technical mechanical and plumbing projects for clients such as Samsung Semiconductor and the University of Texas. We are looking for an Estimator to support accurate take-off of projects for multiple clients.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Onscreen takeoff of process piping, mechanical piping and/or plumbing systems.
Soliciting and scoping proposals from equipment, material suppliers, and subcontractors.
Verifying manpower resources for estimates with project schedules.
Coordinating with clients needs for presentation and/or bid forms.
Documenting assumptions.
Maintaining accurate documents (Drawings, Specs, Addendums, RFI's, Bid tabs, etc..)
Assisting current projects with pricing of changes.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:
4-yr mechanical engineering, business, or construction science degree (or commensurate levels of technical training and/or related experience) Field experience is ideal.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Outstanding organizational skills
Excellent MS Office skills and ability/drive to learn new software systems
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
Ability to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, twist, bend, and lift 40 pounds
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Ability to smock up and work in a clean room environment
General understanding of plumbing and mechanical codes.
Must be able to pass extensive background check and drug test
Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
This is a full time position based in Bastrop, Texas with travel to jobsite locations as required
Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
