Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to negotiate effectively and control costs. Duties
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for various construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best possible rates.
- Monitor project budgets and costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to financial targets.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data for estimates.
- Stay updated on industry trends, codes (including NEC), and best practices in construction management.
- Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and team members to facilitate effective communication throughout the estimating process.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and construction site operations.
- Proficiency in cost control methods and project management principles.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes.
- Familiarity with NEC codes and regulations is preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate estimation processes.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
