Sand Point Services (SPS) is recruiting for the position of Assistant Quality Control Manager. This is a regular, full-time position located in Columbus, GA. This position reports to the Quality Control Manager.
Summary
We are looking for a Quality Control Administrator / Submittal Clerk who will assist the Quality Control Staff manage the day-to-day QC operations of a construction project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The position will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Assist with maintaining daily QC and as-built documentation.
- Maintain Submittal and RFI Registers.
- Maintain testing documentation.
- Document and take minutes during QC inspections
- Assist with the preparation and management of the punch list documents and follow-up process
- Track and compile close-out documentation.
- Maintain all essential project documentation
Qualifications
- Two (2) years’ experience in government contracting/construction preferred.
- Knowledge in construction methods, practices, schedules, logistics and budgets.
- LEED Experience preferred.
- Current USACE/NAVFAC QCM preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Experience with USACE, RMS data base preferred.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to take initiative, problem-solve and work in a fast-paced setting.
- Professional demeanor in person, online, and via phone with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- U.S. citizenship or U.S permanent resident status required.
- A valid drivers' license issued by state of residence and in good standing. Must not have any reckless driving or DUI within the past ten years.
- Will be required to pass facility security clearance investigation.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Weather: This position requires much of the work to be performed inside in an environmentally controlled office, frequently requiring work to be performed outside where the employee may be exposed to harsh weather conditions.
- Noise level: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, may be exposed to a loud work environment when traveling to worksites.
- Description of environment: Most of the work will be in a standard office environment with standard office equipment.
- Physical requirements: Employee is required to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
- Travel: Up to 15%.
