Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Advanced Manufacturing and Process Development group - part of the Automotive Business Unit - has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual who can create immediate business impact in the exciting field of process development with a particular emphasis on the creation of software applications that employ Artificial Intelligence.

In this software intensive role - you will utilize your knowledge, intuition and importantly your ability to learn new skills to develop innovations and complete projects that transform our manufacturing operations. You will work closely with your colleagues to bring understanding and insights to both existing and future process developments.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing and Process Development Engineer with a specialization in AI development to drive intelligent automation and process optimization. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Pytorch, TensorFlow, Python, Jupyter, and various neural network models. This role will focus on integrating AI-driven solutions into manufacturing workflows to improve performance, reduce waste, and increase productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy AI / ML models to enhance manufacturing processes and automation.
  • Implement deep learning frameworks such as Pytorch and TensorFlow to solve complex manufacturing challenges.
  • Utilize Python and Jupyter notebooks to develop, test, and optimize AI algorithms.
  • Work with various neural network models, including CNNs, RNNs, GANs, and transformers, to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Develop predictive maintenance algorithms to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production engineers, data scientists, and automation specialists.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes by integrating computer vision, anomaly detection, and robotics control systems.
  • Ensure seamless deployment of AI solutions in production environments using edge computing and cloud platforms.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in AI, ML, and manufacturing automation.

What your background should look like :

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing process development and automation.
  • Strong proficiency in AI / ML development with hands-on experience in Pytorch, TensorFlow, and Python.
  • Experience working with Jupyter notebooks for AI experimentation and visualization.
  • Expertise in developing and fine-tuning neural network models for real-world applications.
  • Familiarity with edge AI solutions and cloud deployment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on manufacturing process optimization.
  • Ability to work independently and lead AI-driven process innovation projects.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with industrial automation, robotics, and IoT integration.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with digital twins and AI-driven simulations for process modeling.
  • Experience with real-time data processing and embedded AI solutions.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and be able to provide overviews of complex topics and systems
  • Working in a team with superior time management skills
  • Ability to travel to support solutions in the field - including (but not limited to TE Automotive Americas locations
  • Strong communication skills to present concepts to team members and management, while defending your decisions and selling your ideas for the successful implementation of new products and processes.

    COMPENSATION

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience : $101,000 - 151,600 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience / qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
  • Total Compensation = Base Salary Incentive(s) Benefits

    Salary : $101,000 - $151,600
