North Scott Schools is seeking an Elementary Counselor at John Glenn Elementary, a single-section building in Donahue, Iowa, a part of North Scott Community School District. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families, the drive to continuously grow professionally through ongoing reflection, coaching, and collaboration, and a commitment to our shared goal of 100% of our students learning at high levels.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Professional School Counselor K-8 License (172)
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB GOAL: To create a supportive learning environment where students can develop social, emotional, and academic skills.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach the district guidance curriculum to provide universal instruction in strategies to promote social-emotional behavioral health and career readiness skills.
Provide Tier 2 and 3 interventions in social-emotional behavioral health as a part of the school's multi-tiered system of support.
Provide counseling services to individuals or small groups.
Promote positive relationships and collaborate with staff, students, families, and outside service providers to address student needs.
Assist students in identifying and building upon their strengths.
Remain available to students so as to provide counseling that will lead each student to increased personal growth, self-understanding, and maturity.
Guide students and families in their participation in school and community activities.
Protect students' confidentiality while communicating with staff and caregivers as needed.
Coordinate building 504 Plans
Perform other duties as assigned.
