Elementary Teacher

Colfax-Mingo Elementary is seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary Teacher to join our close-knit school community. Key Responsibilities:

1. Instruction and Curriculum Implementation:

   • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in core subjects, ensuring all students meet their academic potential.
   • Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning styles, needs, and abilities.
   • Provide quality, research based reading instruction.
   • Incorporate project-based learning, hands-on activities, and technology to enrich the classroom experience.
   • Foster 21st-century skills such as collaboration, critical thinking, communication, and creativity.
   • Participate in grade level PLC

2. Student Development and Support:

   • Build positive relationships with students, creating a safe and welcoming classroom environment.
   • Support the development of students.
   • Regularly assess student progress and provide individualized feedback to promote growth and achievement.
   • Celebrate student success and encourage resilience through challenges.

3. Community and Family Engagement:

   • Communicate effectively and consistently with families, fostering strong school-home partnerships.
   • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support students' academic and emotional needs.
   • Participate in school events and initiatives that strengthen the sense of community within Colfax-Mingo Elementary.

4. Professional Growth and Collaboration:

   • Work collaboratively with colleagues in a team-oriented environment, contributing to a shared mission of excellence for all.
   • Participate in professional development to stay current with best practices in education and pedagogy.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
• State certification or licensure to teach at the elementary level.
• Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies.
• Commitment to equity and fostering an inclusive, respectful learning environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, suited to a small, collaborative school community.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience teaching in a small school or rural setting.
• Familiarity with individualized instruction and multi-grade teaching approaches.
• Ability to integrate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) and 21st-century skills into lessons.
• Experience with restorative practices and trauma-informed teaching.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time teaching position at Colfax-Mingo Elementary.
