Business Analyst I - Information Technology

POSITION SUMMARY
As a Business Analyst I, you play a crucial role in supporting the organization by analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and assisting in the development of solutions that enhance operational efficiency. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and maintain user stories to ensure that business needs are met effectively. You will collaborate closely with multiple technical and business teams providing an excellent customer experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to collect and document business requirements through interviews, workshops, and surveys.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate existing business processes and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Documentation: Create clear and concise documentation, including business requirements, process flows, user stories, and success criteria for both production products and greenfield development
  • Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate communication between technical teams and business units to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Testing Support:
    • Assist in the testing of new systems and processes to ensure they meet success criteria and function as intended.
    • Facilitate user acceptance testing to gain valuable customer feedback for enhanced user stories.
  • Reporting: Develop reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators and support decision-making.
  • Training: Document training materials and assist in end-user training, driving adoption of the solution.
  • Other duties as assigned by leader.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or 2 years of equivalent industry experience. Management Information Systems or technical coursework or degree a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of software configuration best practices and data integrity standards.
    • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
    • Excellent documentation skills with exceptional detail.
    • Excellent diagramming skills using tools such as Lucid Chart or Miro.
    • Ability to quickly learn new applications in depth.
    • Ability to use support ticketing systems such as JIRA or Zoho.
  • Soft Skills Required:
    • Communication – Ability to communicate effectively with others clearly and concisely.
    • Active Listening – Ability to listen attentively to stakeholders to understand their needs and concerns for requirements gathering.
    • Problem-Solving – A strong ability to perform root cause analysis and develop innovative solutions with critical thinking and the capacity to evaluate multiple options.
    • Detail Oriented – Ability to pay attention to the minute details of the project or task
    • Organized – Possessing the trait of being organized or following a systematic method of performing a task.
    • Low Ego - Ability to admit one's mistakes, be open accepting and willing to hear and provide constructive feedback.
    • Presentation Skills – Ability to effectively present information publicly
    • Teamwork – Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure projects align with business goals and stakeholder expectations.
    • Adaptability – Ability to adjust to changing project requirements and environments to support a dynamic business landscape.
    • Self-Confident – The trait of being comfortable in making decisions for oneself
  • Work Environment:
    • Maintain confidentiality and exhibit reliable attendance in accordance with government, organization, and department policies
    • This job operates primarily in a clerical office setting in Tulsa. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. You must be able to sit for long periods of time.
    • Travel: 0-5% for special projects
