Purpose: The EHS Intern supports environmental, health, and safety initiatives by assisting with compliance efforts under OSHA, MNOSHA, EPA, MPCA, and NFPA regulations. Responsibilities include auditing procedures, converting and organizing environmental, health, and safety training files, labeling locks for Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) compliance, and supporting environmental reporting and documentation. The intern may assist with stormwater and hazardous waste compliance, help track safety data and participate in site inspections across multiple TEAM Industries locations. This role provides hands-on experience in EHS compliance and administrative support, helping maintain a safe and organized workplace while ensuring regulatory requirements are met. May work with all plant locations.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe work environment for self and others. Follows all safety rules and regulations. Demonstrate commitment to safety program
- Assist with the creation and delivery of OSHA-required training in alignment with the AWAIR Plan and other corporate safety initiatives.
- Become familiar with current EHS regulations, standards, codes, safety products, and industry best practices to support compliance.
- Assist with accident and incident investigations as requested, helping document findings and corrective actions.
- Support environmental audits related to MPCA stormwater permits, hazardous waste management, and air emissions compliance across multiple TEAM facilities.
- Participate in safety committee activities, contributing to site-specific and corporate EHS initiatives.
- Assist in conducting Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) in collaboration with various departments.
- Help create, update, and maintain corporate environmental policies and procedures to align with EPA, MPCA, and OSHA requirements.
- Demonstrate commitment to the TEAM Industries Quality Management system and Objectives.
- Promote a positive atmosphere. Actively support activities that promote the welfare and morale of TEAM employees.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Junior or Senior working toward their Bacholors Degree in a Safety related field of study
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate to a diverse group of people
- Must be a fluent, advanced user of Microsoft Office products
- Must perform duties in a confidential, professional manner
- Ability to learn various webbased saftey programs/modules
- Ability to mine data
- Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
