Process Technician

Purpose:   To assist Process Engineer to develop, control and improve processes for prototype, pre-production, and production while continually improving the process to reduce cost of end product. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 

•  Ensure a safe work environment for self and others. Follow all safety rules and regulations.  Demonstrate commitment to behavior based safety program.
• Develop die cast process for Advanced Planning projects.
• Monitor manufacturing process to comply with drawings and specifications
• Initiate process changes for continuous improvement
• Evaluate processes for profitability and efficiency
• Continuous training of production workers in process to ensure understanding and the relationship to quality and cost
• Participate in training and projects to create and maintain continuous improvements in products, processes, and quality to help maintain and reduce waste cost.
• Establish, maintain and develop methods for measuring the continuous improvement projects in the department
• Verify set ups and perform them as needed
• Ensure part quality
• Participate in Quality programs as assigned
• Work closely with all departments and floor personnel
• Reports initially to the Operations Manager, and lastly, the on-duty Production Supervisor and Leads
• Demonstrate commitment to the TEAM Industries Quality Management system and Objectives.
• Promote a positive atmosphere.  Actively support activities that promote the welfare and morale of TEAM employees.
• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Secondary Duties/Responsibilities

• Follow all directions on operator work instruction documents
• Ensure part quality is in accordance with inspection report
• Maintain appropriate communication with peers, supervisors and others as appropriate
• Monitor machines effectively
• Assist the Production Supervisor with daily activities
• Accurately process paperwork

Essential Functions:

• Ability to sit, stand, twist, walk and bend
• Ability to lift 50 pounds 

Minimum Requirements: 

         Education:

• High school diploma or GED 

         Experience:

•  1 to 3 years of previous experience in die cast machine set-up and operation
