Job Summary
The Staff Accountant is an integral part of the incentive and 1099 payment process for a growing dental management company in Denver, CO with plenty of growth opportunities. The position supports various aspects of finance and accounting including 1099 employees, incentive calculations, and related payments. The position requires individuals who can contribute to a fast-paced environment and have great attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
• Provide finance support to operational and clinical teams.
• Ensure compliance with company policy and general accepted accounting principles.
• Analyze and post standard and non-standard journal entries.
• Calculate, accrue, and process incentives for various areas of the business;
• Manage the 1099 Compensation logs, this includes adding and removing doctors as needed, monitoring contracts to update compensation rates, and working with the field and accounting team to ensure accuracy.
• Manage approvals for all 1099 related expenses.
• Submit 1099 payments to accounts payable for processing monthly.
• Answer 1099 payment questions from employees or Field
• Pull systems reports to calculate several of the bonus incentives.
• Work with divisional and department leaders to ensure accuracy of incentive calculations and adjust as necessary to support initiatives
• It is expected that approximately 50% of the job’s responsibilities will be handling questions from the Field, most of those questions will be clarifying and setting expectations around both 1099 employees and bonus incentives
• Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts monthly.
• Analyze accounts to identify incorrect postings and necessary reclassifications.
• Preparing and distributing various reporting and other ad-hoc reports or analysis;
• Acting as a key support person for external annual audit requests;
• Manage cross functional execution of financial close execution and required documentation;
• Special projects and ad-hoc requests as assigned.
Requirements/Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field;
• Public or private accounting experience for a large organization is a plus;
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills;
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;
• Above average Microsoft Office skills, most notably Excel, with ability to learn new skills quickly;
• Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to multi-task and complete assignments within tight time constraints and deadlines.
• Experience in Workday is a plus
Salary range: $61,000 ~ $78,500
