Outreach Specialist Job Description
Reports to: Training & Support Manager, TeamMates Mentoring Program
Basic Function and Responsibility: Provide match support for mentors and mentees, demonstrate high-level customer service, problem solving, and mentor training to support chapter constituents across our five-state region.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, education, public administration, or related field
Key Skills:
- Work with curiosity, positivity, confidentiality, and high level of professionalism to respond to and resolve the needs of our constituents via e-mail and by phone
- Must possess strong interpersonal and presentation skills and must be able to demonstrate effective teaching, oral, and written skills
- Highly motivated, self-starter with determination to solve problems
- Ability to organize multiple tasks efficiently while working under time constraints to meet workload/demands
- Experience in transitioning problems to policy and procedures when need arises
- Technical skills including Microsoft Office, email, and digital communication software;
Duties and Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with all TeamMates employees to provide training, resources and support throughout chapters and program
- Develop and implement resources for match support in accordance with the Elements of Effective Practice
- Facilitate both in person and virtual delivery of match support material
- Work collaboratively with program coordinators to ensure standards for making matches and match support are upheld throughout the organization
- Visit schools to cultivate relationships with school administration to garner support for TeamMates chapters
- Partner with the Training Manager to facilitate training
- Communicate critical details to chapter leadership
- Provide database management and technical support, ensuring accuracy of data entry
- Process all volunteer applications through references and background checks
- Work collaboratively with TeamMates Chapter/programs to facilitate renewal background check
- Collaborate with Regional Coordinators to create monthly reports for mentor match tracking
- Assist with implementation and closure of local programs
- Work with the team to provide efficient, effective work practices and processes
- Other duties as assigned
Location: TeamMates Program Headquarters Office - Gretna, NE
Working Conditions: This position works in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a flexible 40-hour a week schedule both in the office and remotely/ for travel and events. Local and overnight travel may be needed occasionally, as well as the aptitude to present and hold virtual learning space. The ability to work a flexible schedule as needed. Physical requirements include the ability to work at a desk and in front of a computer for extended periods of time, engage in repetitive movements, and to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
