JOB SUMMARY:
This role supports accounting for sourcing, derivatives, inventory, and grain within the Global Accounting Organization (GAO). You will partner with the Sourcing, Shared Services, and Finance organizations to drive process excellence and maintain accurate external financial statements in compliance with US GAAP requirements. In this role you will be responsible for leading accounting, reporting, and control activities, including: providing accounting and technical guidance to the GMI Sourcing Organization, evaluating business transactions against changing accounting and regulatory rules, providing direction to execution teams in shared services centers, as well as supporting a variety of strategic projects across the GAO and Supply Chain.Edit Primary Function
Duties & Responsibilities
Own accounting expertise and business partnership related to hedging, commodities, and grain operations across the North America sourcing network, as well as corporate departments.
• Collaborate across functions to drive process excellence, the accuracy of financial results, and development of accounting and controls capabilities throughout the organization.
• Work daily with Sourcing Buyers and Grain Merchandisers on commodity positions, questions, and projects.
• Oversee daily processing of hedge activity, resolving issues and ensuring seamless operations within our Finance Shared Services organization.
• Partner with business partners to improve accuracy of financial records and efficiency and effectiveness of controls.
Accounting Functional Excellence:
• Follow and comply with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and current financial legislation for financial statements.
• Oversee accounting procedures, controls, and processes for hedging and commodities. Develop sustainable solutions for all identified control gaps and ensure they are implemented in a manner consistent with global standard process. Create tools and training to proactively drive efficiency and proper accounting treatment.
• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close, and reporting of all financial information. This includes both Income Statement and Balance Sheet responsibility, as well as approving reconciliations and entries.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
3-7 years’ experience in Accounting and/or Financial Reporting
Strong ERP (SAP) knowledge preferred
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license preferred
TriplePoint Trade System experience preferred
Supply Chain accounting experience preferred
Personal/supplier issued laptop required.
