Event Sales
Hourly Rate : $35.50 / hour
Work Arrangement : Hybrid / Remote
Will work from a CRM
Required to come to our office for meetings once a week
Available for training on Zoom
Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct telephone conversations to identify and qualify prospective customers
Record sales prospecting activity in Excel spreadsheet format
Investigate and create new revenue-generating events & ideas
Assist in educating and training sales teams on events and sponsorship opportunities
Help account representatives prepare & present event sales presentations
Brainstorm and develop custom activation plans for account representatives & clients
Create and manage sales collateral for event packages
Develop customized sponsorships and sales materials as needed
Analyze the value and report results of each event
Create event recap presentations for internal and external purposes
Produce video recap presentations / sizzle videos
Sell conference tickets for small business attendees
Book events by phone, mail, walk-in
Edit contracts
Follow up on every event from first contact to billing
Cooperate closely with the sales department
Qualify and distribute all leads
Negotiate and manage the sale of group events of various sizes and complexities
Generate new business and build client relationships
Maintain existing client base through personal meetings, telephone, and email
Achieve weekly, monthly, and yearly sales goals
Develop and manage rotating call logs
Assist sales team with ordering / booking event sponsorship elements
Create and update sales collateral or informational materials
Assist event manager with budget management
Provide weekly updates on event sales & revenue as requested
Represent National Journal brand positively within the member and advertising community
Qualifications
Bachelor's or College Degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Education, Management, Tourism, Business, or Business / Administration
Minimum 2 years work experience as Event Sales / Planning Executive in a luxury international brand hotel
Strong follow-up skills, ability to work on multiple projects, and attention to detail
Computer literacy and familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM systems
Prefer two years of hotel-related experience, event management experience, or successful completion of the Event Management trainee program
Computer skills in Microsoft Office applications
Desired Skills
Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
CRM programs (proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM)
Delphi and Meeting Matrix
Internet proficiency
Social media (Facebook, Instagram)
Knowledge of local market
Desired Experience
Minimum four years event / sales experience preferred
