DEMAND PLANNER - CARROLLTON, TX

Overview

As a Demand Planner, you will be responsible for planning and leading the long and short-term sales demand process including the development of an in-year and rolling 12-month forecast at both a customer and product SKU levels. You will play a managing role in the Demand Planning organization, acting as a cross-functional liaison between our business teams to collect the necessary inputs to ensure forecast accuracy and bias while achieving sales targets. This role requires a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is adaptable to change and who will work collaboratively with Sales, Supply Chain, Production Planning, and the PLM teams to identify and plan upcoming promotional activities, latest market trends, seasonal market trends, and macro-environmental factors.

What You'll Do

• Lead and present a monthly demand forecasting review process that identifies and defines what our customers will purchase over multiple time horizons.
• Create and maintain an in-year and 12-month rolling customer demand sales forecast by SKU for our customers.
• Manage and maintain all forecasts for assigned customers/channels by working closely with key account managers, conducting frequent ‘deep dives’ into product demand patterns, sales trends, and seasonality components, and measuring the impact of supply chain constraints and their effect on current and future forecasts.
• Compare, analyze, and provide insights into the variances in forecasts between statistical forecasts, POS forecasts, and the latest forecast.
• Deliver analytical insights and forecasting callouts in the monthly Demand Review meetings with Manufacturing, Sales, & Finance to align on a consensus forecast across various time horizons.
• Work closely with the production planning team to align on key seasonal forecast trends requiring precise inventory and WOS.
• Develop and maintain an annual and monthly calendar for KPI measurements, including due dates, BIAS, Forecast Accuracy (Lag 2 & Lag 1), and forecast reviews.
• Prepare and present frequent analyses of sales forecasts, trends, risks, and opportunities, as well as other analytical insights pertaining to specific customers or products, as requested.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with customers, key account managers, supply chain partners, and consumer insights teams to obtain relevant insights or data points to forecast the business better.
• Work closely with Product Development teams in new product planning by creating new product forecasts and evaluating the performance of current product launches relative to initial projections.
• Communicate and own monthly KPIs measuring and evaluating forecast accuracy, bias, and top 5 / bottom 5 (Customer & SKU level).
• Develop and maintain an annual budget review process around key deliverable dates that outline gains and losses, creating a bridge from current to proposed or reflective of changes in versions.
  
  

What You'll Need

• Experience with statistical forecast modeling is preferred
• College degree required
• Excellent data, insights, analytical, and organizational skills
• 3 years’ experience in Sales forecasting, demand planning, or supply chain field working with forecasting software, techniques, capabilities, and reporting.
• Ability to break down ambiguous problems into concrete, manageable components and think through optimal solutions
• Self-starter mentality with a high degree of follow-through; can own and take strategic initiatives to completion.
