Job Description:
The Critical Facilities Technician II is responsible for the operations, repair, and maintenance of critical facilities infrastructure supporting IT compute environments. This includes electrical, mechanical, plumbing/piping equipment, machinery, and controls located across the data center campus. The technician will monitor operations, assess building systems, perform routine planned and reactive maintenance, and report status to facilities management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and ongoing assessment of building systems, operations, and performance.
- Monitor operations, assess building systems, and perform routine planned and reactive maintenance.
- Lead, maintain, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Operate and maintain routine and emergency services on critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, computer room air handlers, rooftop HVAC, building monitoring systems, etc.
- Process work orders for preventative and corrective maintenance on critical, building, and site infrastructure.
- Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Respond to out-of-hours emergency calls.
