The IT Asset Administrator is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of IT hardware and software assets at Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise. This includes maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring compliance with licensing and security policies, overseeing procurement and disposal, and supporting users with asset-related inquiries. The role requires expertise in the ServiceNow IT Asset Management (ITAM) module, datacenter operations, and IT operations, along with strong organizational and analytical skills. The goal is to optimize IT asset utilization, reduce costs, and support operational efficiency across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Record and maintain detailed information on all IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, and peripherals.
- Track asset metadata such as serial numbers, purchase dates, user assignments, and physical locations.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure inventory records are accurate and up-to-date.
Asset Lifecycle Management
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of IT assets, from acquisition to retirement.
- Facilitate decommissioning and responsible recycling of obsolete assets.
- Monitor usage and make recommendations for upgrades or replacements.
Compliance Management
- Ensure compliance with software license agreements and vendor contracts.
- Implement and maintain asset-related security protocols.
- Report on compliance status to stakeholders and management.
Procurement & Deployment
- Collaborate with procurement to source hardware and software assets.
- Coordinate asset distribution and deployment to end users efficiently.
Reporting & Analysis
- Generate reports detailing asset utilization, cost effectiveness, and risk areas.
- Analyze trends and provide strategic recommendations to improve asset management practices.
User Support
- Serve as a point of contact for asset-related user inquiries.
- Provide training and documentation for asset management procedures and tools.
ServiceNow ITAM Module Administration
- Configure and maintain the ServiceNow ITAM module.
- Create and update asset records and workflows within ServiceNow.
- Manage user access, roles, and permissions related to ITAM processes.
Problem & Change Management
- Collaborate with incident and problem management teams to resolve asset-related issues.
- Participate in change management processes to support asset updates and transitions.
Service Catalog Management
- Maintain and update service catalog items relevant to asset management.
- Ensure service catalog offerings meet performance and SLA requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3 years of hands-on experience with the ServiceNow ITAM module.
- 3 years of IT Asset Management experience.
- 3 years of experience working in a datacenter environment.
- 3 years in an IT Operations role.
- Experience with IT Ticketing and Asset Management systems (especially ServiceNow).
- Strong understanding of IT asset lifecycle and data analysis.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform hardware moves when necessary.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
Other Requirements
- Must be able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability for off-hours support as required.
- Vendor must supply a smartphone for work-related use.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- OR
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Asset management certifications such as CHAMP, CSAM, or similar.
- 5–7 years of overall IT and Asset Management experience.
