Data Warehouse Architect (ETL and Snowflake)

Core Objectives

Design, implement, and manage a scalable Snowflake data warehouse and low/no-code ETL pipelines to optimize data storage, enhance data access, and support analytical efforts for PTO operations.

🧠 Required Experience

• 10 years in data warehouse architecture, design, and implementation
• 5 years working with Snowflake, including environment setup and management
• 3 years with low/no-code ETL tools (e.g., Matillion, Talend, Informatica)
• Strong background in:
• SQL, relational DBs, data modeling
• Data quality, integration, and governance
• Cross-functional collaboration (with developers, analysts, engineers, and users)

⭐ Preferred Skills

• Strong technical communication for non-technical audiences
• Troubleshooting, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to switch contexts, self-direct, and prioritize
• Experience in:
• Hybrid cloud/on-prem architectures
• Microsoft Office 365
• Project environments and blueprint/spec development

🎓 Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, or related field (required)
• Master’s degree preferred

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

1. Data Warehouse Design (Snowflake)

• Design secure and scalable warehouse
• Define schemas/models
• Implement DR, cost optimization, tuning strategies

2. ETL Platform Integration

• Select, configure, and optimize low/no-code ETL tools
• Ensure quality, consistency, and performance

3. Analytics Integration

• Work with Azure virtual desktops for data science tools (SPSS, R, Python)
• Integrate Power BI with Snowflake

4. Data Integration & Management

• Ingest data from SQL Server, Oracle, flat files
• Document architecture & data flow
• Monitor and resolve integration issues

5. Security & Compliance

• Implement RBAC, MFA (Duo), SSO (Azure Entra ID)
• Comply with NIST, IRS Pub 1075, and Florida regulations
• Enable activity monitoring and incident response

6. Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer

• Interface with stakeholders and IT teams
• Provide training, documentation, and support
• Track and report progress to PM and analysts
