Tech Credit Union has an opening for a Facilities Technician for our financial services institution. Our credit union facilities are located in Northwest Indiana and the Chicagoland South Suburbs.

As the Facilities Technician, you are responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our buildings' systems and equipment, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural components, ensuring the facilities remain in optimal working condition. You will conduct inspections, preventative maintenance, and respond to repair requests across various areas like lighting, fixtures, and building systems. You will also coordinate with external contractors and service vendors for larger projects.
Key responsibilities of the Facilities Technician include :
- Preventative maintenance :
Regularly inspecting and servicing HVAC systems, electrical panels, plumbing fixtures, fire alarms, and other building systems to prevent breakdowns.
Addressing issues like leaky faucets, malfunctioning light switches, clogged drains, minor electrical repairs, and basic carpentry work.
Performing routine checks of the facility, identifying potential maintenance needs, and documenting findings.
Responding to urgent maintenance issues like power outages, water leaks, or security system malfunctions.
Creating, prioritizing, and completing work orders based on reported maintenance issues.
Contacting and managing outside contractors for specialized repairs or large projects.
Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and equipment status.

There is occasional bending, squatting or kneeling and reaching above the head. The employee must regularly move, lift or stack (up to 5 feet in height) up to 30 lbs and occasionally must move, lift or stack (up to 5 feet in height) up to 60 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
