We are seeking qualified IT professionals to provide onsite and remote support for a municipal IT infrastructure. The selected candidates will work under a managed services contract supporting government operations, public safety, and public works departments. The role requires expertise in network administration, desktop support, cybersecurity, and server management within a government or public safety setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Onsite and Remote IT Support: Provide day-to-day support for desktops, servers, network devices, and cloud services (Office 365, Azure, etc.).
- Public Safety Systems: Maintain and troubleshoot law enforcement technology, including CAD/RMS software, in-car computers, body cameras, and mobile data terminals (MDTs).
- Network and Security Administration: Manage routers, switches, VPNs, and firewalls while ensuring 24/7 cybersecurity monitoring.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery: Maintain storage, backup, and data recovery solutions.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues, collaborating with third-party vendors when needed.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure compliance with CJIS Security Policy and pass a background check before working on law enforcement systems.
- User Support & Training: Provide technical assistance and training to employees.
- IT Asset Management: Maintain an inventory of hardware, software, and licenses.
- Emergency Support: Provide after-hours emergency IT support for critical systems.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3 years of IT support experience in government, law enforcement, or managed services.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Microsoft Windows Server & Desktop Environments
- Office 365 Administration & Azure Active Directory
- Network and firewall configuration (Cisco, Avaya, or similar)
- Cybersecurity best practices & compliance (CJIS preferred)
- Certifications (Preferred):
- CompTIA A , Network , Security
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator
- Cisco CCNA or equivalent networking certifications
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or within a team.
- Excellent communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical staff.
Additional Requirements
- Must pass a CJIS background check before accessing law enforcement systems.
- Availability for onsite support during business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM).
- Ability to respond to emergency IT requests outside business hours.
- Travel to facilities as needed for hardware support.
