What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Maintenance Specialist position at Tech Ord?
**Job Summary:**
This role supports the upkeep and maintenance of our facility grounds, equipment, and buildings.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Perform lawn services such as mowing, trimming, and clean-up for all areas around buildings, outskirt grounds, and ditches.
- Cut down or prune greenery as needed.
- Utilize hand and/or motorized equipment.
- Maintain buildings by performing minor and routine painting, filter changes, light bulb changes, and other related maintenance activities.
- Assist in cleaning of buildings, to include vacuuming and scrubbing floors, toilets, sinks, and mirrors.
- Assist in maintaining trash and paper recycling programs.
**Requirements:**
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States (ITAR restrictions).
- Must be at least 18 years of age to work at this facility.
- Must be eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for all employees of Tech Ord.
- Working knowledge of lawn-tending machinery and tools used for upkeep and maintenance purposes.
- Ability to communicate and document effectively in English.
- Ability to work effectively with other employees as part of a team.
- Ability to multi-task in support of end-result/goal.
