Assembly & Shipping Team Lead

Job Summary:

The Shipping and Assembly & Shipping Lead position is responsible for supervising the assembly functions, as well as managing the shipping functions of the facility. This position plans and assigns work, manages work schedules including assigning overtime, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions for the Shipping and Assembly department. This position reports to the Plant Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

• Provides positive work environment that allows associates to achieve assembly and shipping targets
• Ensure all safety concerns are being accounted for; take proactive corrective action to eliminate risks to employees; and report infractions to management
• Responsible for managing the assembly department schedule to meet customer demand.
• Interacts with support departments to maintain production flow of finished product
• Resolves associate issues and complaints in timely manner
• Responsible for providing required training and education for shipping and assembly associates and department team lead
• Work with managers and team leaders in manufacturing, quality, purchasing, customer service and other areas to ensure effective and efficient use of resources
• Responsible for tracking associate records, approving time off, providing initial disciplinary action, associate counseling, and other such associate related material.
• Associate information must be accurate and shared with HR in timely manner.
• Organize and manage finished goods inventory.
• Follow and adhere to the ISO 9001 system requirements.
• Follow and adhere to the ISO 14001 system requirements.

Education, Training, Certifications, Experience:

• Associates Degree in Business or other equivalent degree or experience
• 2-5 years related experience in leading and supervising in a manufacturing or shipping environment

Job Knowledge and Skills:

• Intermediate to above average level of computer literacy
• Effective organizational skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong commitment to team success
• Has a good command of the English language, both verbal and written
• Has above average interpersonal skills to work with vendors and other departments
• Has ability to present data in method that can be understood by Senior Management and Executive level
