Job Title: Security Cloud Engineer

Position Overview:

Client is seeking a skilled Security Cloud Engineer to join our Cybersecurity Team. This role will support the County's security operations by enhancing and managing our Microsoft Defender and other cloud-based security platforms. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with hands-on experience in cloud security and a deep understanding of Microsoft and public cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the implementation, configuration, and continuous improvement of security solutions including Microsoft Defender, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Intune, and Azure security technologies.
• Act as a subject matter expert in cloud security, helping the County adopt and optimize cloud services securely.
• Conduct security audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with internal policies, industry best practices, and applicable regulations.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to design secure architectures for cloud-based solutions, particularly in Azure.
• Automate routine security processes to improve operational efficiency and reduce risk.
• Identify vulnerabilities and recommend enhancements to existing systems and security frameworks.
• Monitor and manage enterprise-level tools for vulnerability management, email protection, and network security.

Required Qualifications:

• 4 years of experience in information security with a Bachelor s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field;
  OR 8 years of relevant experience in information security without a degree.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft cloud services and products, including Defender suite and Azure.
• Professional experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and/or AWS.
• Solid understanding of network architecture and security principles.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and time management skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Deployment and configuration of Microsoft Intune for server and network policy management.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft DLP, Defender for Cloud, Intune, and Defender for Servers.
• Familiarity with security tools such as vulnerability scanners and email security gateways.
• Awareness of emerging trends in cybersecurity and enterprise IT infrastructure.
• Ability to identify and propose improvements in network and security architecture.
