Senior Programmer Analyst
Contract: 1 Year
Hybrid: 1 week onsite / 1 week off-site

Responsibilities:
- Cognos 11 reporting, Cognos Transformer Cube, Power BI, and advanced SQL writing abilities.
- Migrating reports from IBM Cognos to Microsoft Power BI.
- Understanding the existing Cognos reports, converting them to Power BI
- Ensure new reports meet the business requirements and performance standards.
Report Conversion:
• Convert existing Cognos reports to Power BI, ensuring that the new reports match the look, feel, and functionality of the original reports
• Implement data-level security mechanisms in Power BI reports, if defined in the Cognos reports
Data Integration:
• Ensure seamless integration with existing data sources, including databases and data warehouses
• Enable real-time data access and updates in Power BI, similar to the current Cognos setup
Performance and Scalability:
• Optimize Power BI reports and dashboards for performance, with fast load times and responsiveness
• Design the Power BI environment to be scalable, accommodating future growth and increased data volumes
User Access and Permissions:
• Implement role-based access controls in Power BI, mirroring the current user permissions in Cognos
• Ensure secure user authentication and authorization mechanisms are in place
Testing and Validation:
• Conduct thorough testing of all migrated reports, cubes, and models to ensure accuracy and performance
Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate that the migrated reports meet business requirements
Documentation and Training:
• Provide user manuals, technical guides, and troubleshooting documentation
• Conduct training sessions for the team on the new Power BI reports and functionalities
