Job Summary:
The human resource assistant is responsible for assisting with the administration of day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties.
Essential Functions:
- Performs HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance.
- Maintains records of employee contact information.
- Keeps employee records up-to-date by processing employee status changes in a timely manner.
- Maintains confidential personnel files and personnel actions.
- Processes benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations of participants.
- Schedules employees into training sessions.
- Tracks employee performance evaluations.
- Prepares job postings, schedules interviews, and orders background checks.
- Conducts new-employee orientation, creates time badges and tracks employees’ time and attendance.
- Assists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
- Assists with the implementation and tracking of company safety and health programs.
- Maintains a current knowledge of employment and labor laws.
- Assists direct supervisor with HR projects.
- Attends monthly management meetings and takes minutes.
- Answers phones for the HR department.
- Organizes, plans, and manages company events.
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform additional duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

Physical Requirements:
- Largely a sedentary role, however, routinely uses standard office equipment such as calculators, computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, and printers.
- Occasionally sits for extended periods of time.
Work Environment:
- Professional office environment.
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles due to necessary communication with warehouse.
- Occasionally exposed to noise level that is moderate to high.
Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Certification in Human Resources
Experience:
- At least 1 years’ experience related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Salary : $38,900 - $49,200
