JOB SUMMARY
Monitor the quality assurance program which ensures that all products shipped from the facility meets engineering specifications and customer expectations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
· Coordinate and assist in writing and updating all procedures and work instructions for each job function in the facility.
· Ensure continuous AS9100 registration, manage internal audit program.
· Monitor product in-process inspections by all manufacturing employees in order to avoid costly final inspection.
· Requisition and monitor all measuring equipment through the manufacturing area.
· Distribute and control revisions to all procedures and work instructions.
· Assist in the investigation and response to all manufacturing related customer complaints.
· Assist engineering in investigating and responding to product performance customer complaints.
· Train employees in the understanding and use of the quality assurance program.
· Train and monitor vendors to ensure they produce product which meets our quality assurance program.
· Own/Oversee internal inspection operations; manage NDT level III
· Disposition the product in the manufacturing area which is found non-conforming to specification.
· Interpret and implement customer specifications for product and quality systems.
· Investigate and recommend corrective actions for engineering related problems in the manufacturing area.
· Assist engineering in design for manufacturing issues.
· Assist in the design and implementation of fixturing for new and existing product.
· Special projects as needed.
· Review and update A3s or similar problem solving tools.
· Corrective Action Reports and follow through.
· Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, finished goods, or stability samples.
· Oversee calibration, validation, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
· Compile laboratory test data and perform appropriate analyses.
· Complete documentation needed to support testing procedures including data capture forms, equipment logbooks, or inventory forms.
· Evaluate analytical methods and procedures to determine how they might be improved.
· Identify quality problems and recommend solutions.
· Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on appropriateness of data for release.
· Investigate or report questionable test results.
· Monitor testing procedures to ensure that all tests are performed according to established item specifications, standard test methods, or protocols.
· Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions.
· Ability to travel to visit customers and vendors as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
· Education:
o Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5yrs of manufacturing quality experience or associates degree and 10yrs minimum of manufacturing quality experience. Other combinations of education and experience considered on a case by case basis.
· Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
o A comprehensive knowledge of management and quality systems
o Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, customer PO’s, prints and specifications, operating and heat treat schedules, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and inventory records. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees in the organization.
o This person must be a self-starter, able to see what needs to be done, and be creative in the formulation and implementation of plans.
o The ability to focus on the issues, with unhappy or dissatisfied customers is essential. This individual must be capable of getting to the root of a problem, and not let their emotions interfere with their ability to understand the issues.
o Knowledge of common statistical analysis and problem solving quality techniques.
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Working Environment: Office and Shop Floor Environment
· Physical Demands: Sitting/Standing for extended periods of time, able to lift up to 20lbs, extended periods of time using a computer screen.
· Travel Requirements: 25%
· Required PPE: Check for required PPE in areas you may be working in
· Safety Glasses: Needed in all areas of the plant.
· Steel toe shoes: Needed in all areas of the plant.
