Job Description Summary:
Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing Sanitation staff and maintaining processing and storage facilities in good sanitary conditions. Sanitation Supervisor assists Quality Assurance, Warehouse and Production department in their needs related to cleaning, housekeeping and sanitation.
Sanitation Supervisor reports to Plant Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises sanitation employees
- Plans employees’ schedule.
- Assigns housekeeping, janitorial and sanitation tasks to employees.
- Trains Sanitation, Housekeeping and Janitorial personnel on job specifics and verifies training effectiveness.
- Helps sanitation / housekeeping / janitors in their daily duties in the event of staff shortage or when necessary.
- Maintains SSOPs for each specific type of equipment and structure to assure they are current and written to desired level of details.
- Keeps chemical inventory and alerts Chemical Supplier about low inventory and order needs.
- Keeps cleaning / sanitation / janitorial tools and equipment supply inventory and alerts supplier of order needs.
- Maintains Master Sanitation Schedule and assigns tasks to specific individuals.
- Identifies the areas / equipment and structures of the building that need advanced cleaning and / or repair.
- Issues maintenance work orders to all repair deficiencies of equipment, structure or premises.
- Maintains maintenance work order log, reconciles open work orders and follows up with maintenance department on monthly basis. Verifies proper completion of maintenance work orders.
- Keeps MSDS sheets for all chemicals current.
- Monitors and documents chemical usage. Assures that chemicals are stored properly and secure.
- Oversees monitoring and documenting of chemical and sanitizer strength and conducts chemical titration test.
- Fulfills corrective actions to environment microbiological test deviations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills / Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in food (meat preferred) manufacturing environment and knowledge of FSIS / USDA regulations strongly preferred.
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English. Bilingual Spanish preferred
- Working computer knowledge specifically in MS Outlook & MS Word
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concreate variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to carry out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Pay: $89,696.96 - $97,893.11 per year
