Position Overview
We're seeking a skilled Database Engineering & Analytics Specialist to manage our database infrastructure while delivering actionable data insights. This role combines traditional DBA responsibilities with modern data engineering and analytics, requiring expertise in both operational database management and data transformation.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust database solutions across on-premises and cloud environments, with a focus on Azure infrastructure
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using SSIS, Azure Data Factory, and other modern data tools
- Create and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures for reporting and analytics needs
- Automate database maintenance, monitoring, and deployment processes using T-SQL, PowerShell, and Azure CLI
- Implement and manage high availability solutions, including disaster recovery planning
- Design and deliver data visualizations and reports using tools like Tableau
- Monitor and optimize database performance across all environments
- Lead database migration projects from on-premises to cloud platforms
- Ensure data security and compliance across all database systems
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of professional experience as a SQL Server DBA with significant exposure to Azure
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Expert-level T-SQL skills with demonstrated ability to write complex analytical queries
- Strong experience with database automation using PowerShell and Azure CLI
- Proven experience with Azure Data Factory and SSIS for ETL/ELT processes
- Expertise in database performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization
- Experience with high availability solutions and disaster recovery planning
- Proficiency in creating and maintaining documentation for database systems and processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Azure certifications (Azure Database Administrator Associate, MCSA, MCSE)
- Experience with Tableau or other BI visualization tools
- Knowledge of additional programming languages (C#, Python, R)
- Experience with Snowflake or other modern data warehouse platforms
- Proven track record of successful on-premises to cloud database migrations
- Experience with agile development methodologies
