TechLaw Consultants, Inc., is a nationwide, employee-owned firm headquartered in Chantilly, VA, and has been in business since 1983. Our environmental consultants help government, commercial and NGO clients assess performance, manage risk, implement sustainable remedies, and resolve uncertainty.
Our TechLaw division is currently seeking a Mid-Level Project Manager with a minimum of 10 years of experience to provide technical and project management expertise, primarily in support of our environmental consulting work for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and other Federal, State and local government agencies. This is a full-time management position in our downtown Chicago office, working with scientists and project managers who are experts in risk assessment, hydrogeology, geology, chemistry, soil science, sampling and analysis, hazardous waste investigations, remediation, and public outreach.
Responsibilities
- Managing environmental projects, contracts and related technical tasks
- Evaluating and preparing risk assessments, environmental investigation and remediation work plans, designs and reports
- Developing strategies for the remediation and closure of large CERCLA and RCRA sites
- Evaluating site documentation for compliance with federal, state and local standards
- Report writing and oversight of field investigation/remediation activities
Qualifications
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree at an accredited college in environmental science, toxicology, engineering or geology (master's degree in biology, chemistry, toxicology, engineering, geology or related discipline and/or a professional registration preferred)
- Over 10 years of experience in a variety of environmental investigation activities, such as sampling, assessments, and document review and preparation—experience working on Superfund sites, with extensive knowledge of CERCLA and/or RCRA preferred
- Over five years of experience in project management, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource management
- Experience with development and evaluation of risk assessments
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.—including loaded coolers and equipment—work long days in the field, and walk or hike through rough and uneven terrain, woodlands, thick vegetation and on slopes, while carrying supplies
- Good ability to multi-task, with excellent reading comprehension and writing skills and meticulous attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and yet be team oriented
- At least 21 years of age, with a valid driver's license and safe driving record
- Authorized to work in the U.S., with ability to obtain and maintain state and federal security clearances
- Must provide a list of coursework and relevant completed training

Salary : $75,000 - $95,000
