Position Overview:
The Construction Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of cable construction projects in the field. This role ensures projects are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget while adhering to industry standards and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will act as a liaison between internal teams, subcontractors, and clients, ensuring seamless communication and execution of project deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination and Planning:
- Coordinate all cable construction projects, including installations, upgrades, and repairs.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, timelines, and deliverables.
- Ensure the proper allocation of resources, materials, and equipment for each project.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Management:
- Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with agreed-upon rates, timelines, and quality standards.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and milestones to stakeholders.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports, including work completed, costs, and any delays.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all construction activities meet industry standards, local regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor safety protocols and work quality.
- Cost Management:
- Track and manage project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to optimize processes and reduce expenses.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
- Address and resolve any issues that arise during project execution, including delays, equipment malfunctions, or resource shortages.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in construction management, telecommunications, or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience in cable construction or telecommunications project coordination.
- Experience with fiber optic and coaxial cable installations is highly preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Familiarity with industry standards, including OSHA regulations and NESC.
