Technica LLC seeks to recruit for the position of Material Coordinator on a Government contract with a place of performance at El Paso TX.

Position Responsibilities:

The Material Coordinator performs aspects of transportation management work with specific shipment of equipment and various transportation modes of responsibilities. Assignments will include the technical transportation functions (e.g., small packages, less than load, rail and line haul) related to transportation activities. Work also includes the responsibility to coordinate transportation of equipment in accordance with local, state, federal laws and Army regulations. This work may require consideration of program requirements, together with specific variations in or from standardized guidelines.


Requirements:

  • A good working knowledge of the governing transportation systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines.
  • Required to comply with all SOPs and adhere to all Safety policies.
  • Comply with environmental Laws/Regulations, comply with Army Regulations/Policies and, related to depot, local, or other supply activities.
  • Analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data, to establish the facts, and to take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.
  • Assists with the preparation and scheduling of transportation efforts of retrograded.
  • Inspects and accepts documentation DD Form 1149, 1348-1 and FB Form 218 for outbound cargo offered for shipment completeness.
  • Processes, verifies, Nomenclature, Hazard Class, quantity and cargo offered for outbound transportation.
  • Properly classifies freight, commodity codes, selects most efficient mode of shipment and transportation account codes (TAC).
  • Selects and initiates contact with carriers to arrange appropriate transport equipment for various different cargo; classified, sensitive, over dimensional, required delivery date (RDD), priority, or other special requirements.
  • Uses automated computer systems and programs to process and document all freight (CMOS, GFM, IBS, etc.)
  • Process all required documents for data input to Cargo Movement Operation System (CMOS) and assigns Transportation Control Numbers (TCNs) if needed.
  • Accurately checks the Funds Verification and Use Authorization (FVUA Form) for completeness and make sure TAC assigned is valid.
  • Be familiar with CMOS and its emergency procedures when inoperable; other systems to use in the event that CMOS is down.
  • Ensure proper coordination with Unit Movement Branch for scheduled upload support. Compiles data for daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Must be able to determine if commodity scheduled for shipment is classified sensitive, or HazMat, and ensures proper carriers are utilized.
  • Prepare and issues bills of lading to drivers.
  • Must have or be able to pass AMMO 62 Class (HAZMAT as job requirement every 2 years and maintain certification)
  • Must be able to perform additional duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1 - 5 years' work experience in shipping and receiving warehouse, customer service, transportation industry or general office environment.
  • Excellent customer service, multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Advanced computer skills to include Excel, Microsoft and Outlook
  • Familiar with DoD Regulation 4500.9, familiar with Defense Transportation Regulation Part II - Cargo Movements.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident for more than 3 years for CAC/ NACI eligibility High school diploma or equivalent
  • 18 years of age
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment and background checks related to the position Must be able to pass urinalysis
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance Must be able to operate a forklift
  • Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment or alone, including working in hot, dusty, windy areas for prolong time periods.
  • Be able to pick up and movement items within a 50 lbs. restriction
  • Be capable of climbing and working on equipment at a 10 feet above ground limit Be capable of using and understanding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)


Desired Qualifications:

  • Military Occupational Specialty (MOS), 88N.
  • Analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to quickly research and collect the necessary applicable data, to establish the applicable facts, and to take or recommend action based upon proven applications or interpretation of systematic established guidelines.
  • Well demonstrated knowledge to operate and perform required duties using CMOS/CMOS Applications and normally approved office computer automation equipment.
  • An associate or higher degree in business, management, logistics or the equivalent military service schools graduations to verify the abilities and competence required to perform in a wide scope of supply related tasks.
