This job is a full time, benefited, FLSA Non-exempt position in the Technology and Operations Division that reports to the IT Director, Network & Systems. This position’s primary location will be the Lawrenceville Campus.
Salary: $70,000 – $75,000/yr.
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 8 Am- 5 Pm, Friday 8 Am- 4 Pm. This position reports to the Lawrenceville Campus and may occasionally work at the Alpharetta North-Fulton Campus if necessary.
Minimum Qualifications (Job Code A1709) Associate’s degree in related field and four (4) years of experience.
Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the minimum qualifications, five years of full-time work experience installing and maintaining microcomputer hardware and software appropriate to position of assignment. Experience managing data center equipment such as rack/blade servers, and SANs. Industry certifications in field, such as MCSE and/or VCP. Experience with virtualization, SCCM: Application deployment, OSD, compliance, software updates, etc. Scripting: Strong experience with PowerShell scripting. Ability to write a basic script from scratch on demand. Active Directory, O365, and Azure administration experience. Experience with cloud compute platforms such as Azure and AWS.
Job Description Summary
Under limited supervision, administers systems for the college. Manages network security and integrity. Installs and maintains servers and data center equipment according to established specifications. Upgrades and installs operating systems and application software. Troubleshoots problems and provides end-user assistance and training. Determines user needs on the local level and recommends designs to meet needs to supervisors. Provide reporting information (data) as required for department statistics. Trains and coordinates the training of employees (both intradepartmental and interdepartmental). Documents and maintains up to date procedures for systems on campus. Consults with users in the design of systems and networks. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field and applies pertinent new knowledge to performance of other responsibilities. Maintains a consistent, high quality, customer-focused orientation when conducting business and providing services or products to clients, the general public and other customers. Interacts with all levels of state personnel in a way that promotes respect, encourages cooperation and contributes to excellent performance.
