Summary

The Key Account Manager is responsible for successfully driving sales growth and is accountable for building high-level strategic business relationships with targeted national key distributors through corporate contacts. This position is responsible for overall sales and profitability of select accounts and coordinates efforts across entire C & I Sales Channel.

Essential Duties

  • Actively support the companys culture and business mission by always putting TCPs people and its customers first.
  • Drive business relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts based on a thorough understanding of the overall organization.
  • Orchestrate and execute sales strategy to grow revenue and gain market share.
  • Understand customer problems and works closely within TCP internally to solve them.
  • Become a valuable resource to the customer by providing insights and ideas on solutions to problems.
  • Provide forecasts and business updates to the management teams as needed.
  • Drive sales through both national and local sales opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities for business expansion by uncovering end customer needs and determining a solution within the scope of TCP branded products.
  • Prepare business proposals and pricing for customer product sales opportunities.
  • Assists marketing/quality with customer deliverables such as warranty issues, pricing discrepancies, quotations, and quality concerns in an accurate, timely manner.
  • Position business unit for growth by complete understanding of customer needs and clear interpretation and communication of those needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Responsible for budgeting and forecasting requirements of customer base to senior leadership.
  • Manage customer purchase orders, forecasts and other customer service related issues as needed.
  • Actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Other responsibilities or projects assigned by manager.

Experience/Requirements

  • 2 years of direct sales experience with B2B in multiple sales channels (Retail, C&I, National Accounts & OEM).
  • Prior experience in the lighting field preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office, and data base analysis.
  • Travel as required to support customers and corporate business up to 50% of the time.
  • Selling skills with a proven ability to close business.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Team oriented; leverages others abilities appropriately; shares in successes and takes ownership for mistakes or losses.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as an effective team member.
  • Time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize efforts on those most likely to result in revenue and market growth

  • Strong Team motivator and ability to collaborate within all levels of customer and TCP organization excellent verbal and written communication skills,
  • Process development and adherence to corporate policies and procedures.
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams to resolve issues and/or improve customer relations.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to provide strategic input to the corporate and customer planning process.
  • Ability to drive all aspects of the sales process from identifying opportunities to closing the sale.
  • Able to work as part of a team, shares knowledge as needed and has the ability to work effectively together on the team to achieve regional/departmental/organizational goals.

Education/Training

  • Bachelor degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience.

Physical/Environmental

  • Sitting for long periods of time, completing tasks using a computer and other office equipment.
  • Position requires frequent talking, hearing, and vision with occasional standing, walking and reaching.
  • May require lifting up to 10 lbs.
  • Job position responsibilities are generally performed in a business office environment with computers, printers and phones.
  • Ability to travel via automobile and/or airplane, as necessary to successfully perform role.
