Job Title : Lead / Senior Field Service Technician-Critical Facilities

Location(s) : Virginia & Ohio

TDS provides mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control construction, testing, and start-up and commissioning services to the Power Generation, Oil & Gas / Petrochemical, Heavy Process, and other Industrial end markets.

We are a dynamic and rapidly growing company in search of a highly skilled Lead / Senior Field Service Technician to join our team to support a wide range of Data Center projects in the Virginia & Ohio areas.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Performing the necessary Acceptance Testing for electrical equipment within Data center Facilities.
  • Safely use hand and power tools, metering & testing equipment, and precision instruments.
  • Collaborate with internal team members & customers / end-users to complete projects within defined timelines.
  • Follow safety protocols and adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Qualifications :

  • Expertise in switchgear maintenance, troubleshooting, and breaker installation.
  • Strong electrical aptitude, understanding of power systems and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of LDL, L2, L3 inspections and testing procedures.
  • Proficiency in secondary injection testing of breakers and PT / CT wiring installations.
  • Familiarity with bus installations, meter configurations, and control wiring.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Hands-on experience with testing and maintenance tools (multimeters, megohmmeters, etc).
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and providing technical support.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues and provide timely resolutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with daily reporting and documentation of work performed.
  • Willingness to travel to various project sites within the U.S.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Required Qualifications :

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in switchgear installation, testing, and maintenance, preferably in industrial, utility, and / or data center environments.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific electrical code, regulations, and related safety standards / protocols (OSHA, NFPA 70E).

    Project(s) : Multiple Data Center Sites

    Location(s) : Virginia & Ohio

    Schedule : Full-time Monday – Friday

    Pay-rate : Based Upon level of Expertise.

    Overtime : Yes, potential for overtime varies

    Per Diem Included : Yes

    Start Date : January 2025

    This job involves both indoor and outdoor work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to :

  • Lift, carry and / or move up to 75 pounds repeatedly.
  • Climb ladders, staircases, step stools, stand, walk, sit, and operate vehicles for extended periods.
  • Bend, stoop, crawl and work in awkward positions or confined spaces for several hours.
  • The employee may occasionally be required to :

  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions including intense heat / cold, muddy, and wet environments.
  • Perform precision tasks with instruments and fittings.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing.
