Manufacturing Maintenance Technician - Technical Glass Products – Perrysburg, OH
Allegion is seeking a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician, full-time in Perrysburg, OH at our Technical Glass Products facility. The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician will support all aspects of building and equipment maintenance for the facility, including building maintenance, the maintenance of manufacturing and supporting equipment / machines, coordinating work done by subcontractors, updating and maintaining maintenance software, and writing SOP’s.
Work Hours: Monday-Friday 6:30 am – 3:00 pm, 40 hours per week required, with opportunity for overtime. This is an hourly, overtime eligible position.
What You Will Do:
- Perform maintenance functions in a safe and profitable manner.
- Perform and/or coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs
- Perform maintenance including troubleshooting and repair of CNC and manual manufacturing equipment
- Perform and or coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance/repairs of production support and facilities equipment, i.e. air compressors, fire extinguishing and sprinkler systems, forklifts, lifting equipment, HVAC system and filtration systems.
- Install and/or oversee the installation and commissioning of new equipment. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all new and existing production and production support equipment.
- Coordinate third party maintenance and support activities.
- Work with departments to ensure maintenance activities are performed in alignment with production schedules.
- Initiate and maintain records within the maintenance electronic tracking system and write SOP’s as required.
- Ensure safety policies and procedures for performing maintenance activities are in place and comply with all State and Federal requirements.
- Follow all building code requirements.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and secure work area
- Support 5S, lean and continuous improvement activities.
What You Need to Succeed:
- 4 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance, including strong proficiency with CNC machine maintenance.
- Journey/master’s certification in a trade-related occupation or General Contractor license preferred.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of machine controls and PLC controllers, vacuum and hydraulic systems, and pneumatic, mechanical and electrical systems.
- Able to troubleshoot, repair and or make recommendations, and perform root cause analysis.
- Has working knowledge of following policies for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing facilities, building systems, and production equipment.
- Has ability to interpret mechanical drawings, equipment specifications, diagrams, and operating and service manuals.
- Proficient in the use of power tools, measuring devices, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance practices, and working in a manufacturing environment.
- Able to perform electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, and plumbing repairs.
- Work collaboratively with internal customers and outside contractors.
- Possess working knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and preventative maintenance software.
- Capable of obtaining and maintaining certification to operate material handling equipment, i.e. forklift, elevated work platform, and overhead crane.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and close attention to detail.
- Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to work at heights.
- Is driven self-started dedicated to safety, quality, and continual process improvement.
- Ability to work overtime required and responds to after-hours service calls when scheduled or in emergency situations.
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly in an environment where heavy work is required and where moderate to loud noise occurs. The employee is in an assembly plant/warehouse environment that can be dusty. May be working around welding operations. Overhead work may be required. There is a frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, twist, bend, lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and occasionally lift and move very heavy objects (up to 100 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday. Production aids such as overhead cranes and forklifts can be used for these tasks. Personal protective equipment will be required and provided. In addition, the individual in this job will be working under time pressure and must be able to perform under stress. They must be able to work rapidly for long periods and to communicate and interact with others. They also must be able to perform multiple concurrent tasks, read and comprehend the material they read. The employee must be able to write, and problem solve.40 hours per week will typically be necessary to accomplish performance objectives and to provide satisfactory job presence and/or responsiveness
