Project Manager, A/V Equipment Sales and Installation

We are looking to add an integral team player to our sales and installation workforce as an A/V Sales and Installation Project Manager to estimator and complete quotes for construction projects and manage them from concept to completion. Summary:

The primary function of this Project Manager is to estimate, propose and manage the A/V permanent installation jobs we take on. This will include but is not limited to theatrical lighting fixtures, audio, projection and LED, rigging, dimming and control systems (we are one of the largest ETC dealers in the region), drape and other items as specified by the RFP. This will involve managing timelines effectively, the ability to read and digest lengthy construction specifications to determine our role, ordering product and managing delivery and installation of that product to ensure client satisfaction on the part of the contractor and end client. A/V and/or theatrical knowledge and experience is a plus, but not a requirement. If you are the right type of person, these skills and knowledge can be taught. You’ll be working hand in hand with the Director of Production and Operations and Owners of the Company to establish and accomplish goals as set forth by the team.

Position responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Discover and discern the scope of our involvement in a project from bid documents.
  • Direct involvement in nurturing relationships with both clients and vendors to create a streamlined working environment based on trust and on-time delivery of both quotes and product installation.
  • Prepare project schedules, manage timelines and critical decision dates to ensure product is ordered on time, delivered and installed on time for a successful installation.
  • Working with team members to ensure quality for installations, and to improve individual and group performance.
  • Ability to work well with others is a must. We are a team-based business based on mutual respect. No job is to big or small for any one of us.
  • Accurately communicating goals and objectives of the department and the division. Weekly meetings with management to manage new and ongoing projects.
  • Responding to the needs of internal team members as well as external ones.
  • Attending pre-installation site visits to verify key criteria and scope of project.
  • Scheduling and managing the on-site labor and installation speed to ensure projects stay on time and on budget.
  • Ensuring timely and efficient movement of product within the facility, including ordering, receiving and delivery of product on jobsites to complete expectations on the contracts.
  • Working with management to ensure that all records and reports regarding installation and sales are prepared on a timely basis and effectively maintained.

Qualifications for this position include:

  • A minimum of 2 years in project management, with a history in commercial A/V project management a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent time management skills and professional appearance and attitude.
  • Computer proficiency a must.
  • Ability to lift 65 lbs.
  • Must be able to lift, bend, stand and sit for long periods of time.
  • Valid Driver’s License, Must be willing to submit to a drug test
  • Ability to work effectively with other associates, customers, and vendors.
  • A commitment to the concept of “doing it right the first time.”
