We are seeking a motivated and dependable Vehicle Durability Technician to support our vehicle testing services in Wittmann, AZ. As a key member of our technical team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of our vehicles.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will test and evaluate production and pre-production vehicles on our world-class proving ground, conducting safety inspections, performing specialized test procedures, and documenting findings on reports in a clear and concise manner.
About Durability Testing
Durability testing involves simulating real-world conditions to accelerate wear on a vehicle, identify potential weak points, and mitigate issues before they become problems after production. This may include activities such as vehicle teardowns, saltwater corrosion testing, stone chipping, individual component testing, and more.
Responsibilities
- Work with other technicians to safely and efficiently complete vehicle teardowns.
- Train other technicians on vehicle teardowns and reporting procedures.
- Create and modify templates in MS Excel related to vehicle teardowns.
- Provide exceptional service to all clients, both internal and external.
- Perform detail-oriented work at the highest level, with a focus on precision and accuracy.
- Conduct safety inspections on vehicles and identify any potential issues.
- Communicate effectively with clients through pre- and post-test emails.
- Perform vehicle teardowns, identify and document potential issues.
- Complete testing within allotted timeframes with utmost precision.
- Diagnose, record, and report any equipment-related issues.
- Assist other technicians with various tasks as needed.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in R&D durability testing and reporting.
- Middle Class proving ground driver's license required.
- Experience with corrosion chamber setup, testing, and reporting is a plus.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Associates degree in Automotive and/or Diesel is a plus but not required.
- Able to safely operate a test vehicle in a wide range of testing conditions.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a diverse and challenging environment.
- Able to frequently lift and move around 30-50 lbs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Above basic computer knowledge required, advanced computer skills a plus.
- Able to multi-task and maintain a clean work environment.
