POSITION SUMMARY
The Logistician III at Naval Surface Warfare Command Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) develops and implements logistics strategies to support naval systems throughout their lifecycle. This senior position leads logistics projects, optimizes operations, and ensures efficient and effective logistics support for critical naval systems and equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop comprehensive logistics strategies and plans for complex naval systems
- Lead logistics projects and initiatives from planning through implementation
- Optimize logistics operations and resources to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Design and implement integrated logistics support plans for new and existing systems
- Develop logistics policies, procedures, and best practices
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and operations
- Perform logistics risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
- Analyze logistics performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead lifecycle logistics planning for naval systems from acquisition through disposal
- Develop and manage logistics budgets and resource allocations
- Mentor junior logistics personnel and provide technical guidance
- Interface with Navy stakeholders and contractors on logistics requirements and issues
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field
Experience:
7 years of professional experience in integrated logistics support, including experience with naval or defense systems
Required Skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge of DoD/Navy logistics policies, procedures, and systems
- Experience developing logistics strategies and implementation plans
- Strong project management capabilities for logistics initiatives
- Expertise in lifecycle logistics management for complex systems
- Advanced analytical skills for logistics optimization
- Excellent leadership and team coordination abilities
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Advanced proficiency with logistics management systems and tools
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
Desired Skills:
- Master's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Logistics Level II certification
- Experience with NSWC PCD systems, particularly mine warfare, unmanned systems, or diving equipment
- Knowledge of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) logistics requirements
- Experience with performance-based logistics (PBL) implementation
- Background in naval operations or prior Navy experience
- Lean Six Sigma certification
