Job Purpose
Performs complex weld and NDE inspections and works on difficult quality problems at a site - often in collaboration with an Engineer. Senior independent contributor able to effectively complete more varied and complex work assignments and issues with limited supervision and teach what they know to other employees.
Job Description
- Conducts quality tests as qualified for (destructive and non-destructive tests) to detect non-conformance issues and identifies the causes of rejects
- Performs critical inspections to evaluate and analyze difficult quality problems, often in collaboration with an engineer
- Reads and interprets complicated blueprints and specifications, including customer and vendor specifications
- Participates in Project meetings and receives third party inspectors and Client representatives (TechnipFMC and/or final Client)
- Follows internal procedures and Quality System (QS) and other governmental and customer requirements and specifications
- Manages all documentation related to Quality
- Receives, classifies, reconciles, interprets, consolidates, and/or summarizes documents and information related to quality
- Maintains records and balance information for control purposes
- Compiles reports, drawing data from a variety of sources within the quality department
- Authorizes proceeding to the next step for semi-finished products, and ensures that end products conform to established procedures and specifications
- May train other inspectors
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- 6 years quality experience in a manufacturing environment
- ACCP Level II Certification for MT and PT
- Certified Weld Inspector
- Spend 20-30% time in an office environment and/or 70-80% in shop environment supporting Subsea Service and REMS (Research, Engineering, Manufacturing & Supply Chain) activities.
- May be exposed to possible hazards including working with high-pressure equipment, high noise, inclement weather, chemicals, pressure testing, heavy lift operations and shop/field traffic.
- Frequent walking, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing upward, crawling in confined workspaces and lifting daily.
