JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models or descriptions and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts
- Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations
- Measures, marks and scribes metal stock for machining
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders
- Verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications
- Maintains all production tooling
- Fabrication of any extra tooling needed
- Diagnose urgent tooling issues
- Other duties may be assigned by supervision / management as needed.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- State accredited Tool and Die Journeyman card or equivalent on-the-job experience
- Such experience evaluated at time of hire by the Tool Room Supervisor and upper management
- Knowledge of metal working and metal working equipment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a deadline-oriented environment and display good decision-making skills
- Compressed Gas, Hot Work, Welding Safety training
- Cranes Overhead and Gantry training
- Tow Motor Certification
- Tool Maker OJT
