The Human Resources Generalist has a wide variety of responsibilities, which requires experience in both Human Resources and Office Administration skills. The HR generalist develops policy and directs and coordinates human resources activities, such as employment, benefits, employee services, and payroll.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Writes directives advising department managers of Company policies
- Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets top management information needs
- Processes employee payroll and responds to related issues; process commissions
- Maintains records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization
- Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
- Assists in interviewing and selecting employees to fill vacant positions
- Plans and conducts new employee onboarding to foster positive attitude toward Company goals
- Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting
- Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
- Administers benefits programs such as health insurance, vacation, sick leave, and leaves of absence
- Investigates accidents and prepares reports for workers’ compensation reporting
- Contracts with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as temporary employees, search firms, or relocation services
- Arranges for services as required to keep office running smoothly
- Provides limited administrative support and IT support
- Arranges travel for inside and outside sales staff and executives
Required:
- 2-4 years in a previous HR generalist role including experience with insurance open enrollment and ACA reporting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with distribution center operations a big plus
- Familiarity with NetSuite ERP platform a plus
- Ability to anticipate issues and provide workable solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
