POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled SQL Developer to join our team. The SQL Developer will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing database systems to ensure seamless data storage, retrieval, and reporting. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet the organization’s data and business intelligence needs.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in SQL programming, experience with database management systems, and a keen ability to translate complex business requirements into efficient database solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Database Design and Development:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
  • Create and optimize database structures, including tables, views, and indexes.
  • Analyze and translate business requirements into database solutions.
  • Write and maintain Python program library in GitHub

Performance Tuning and Optimization:

  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning techniques to enhance query execution and system efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot database issues, identify bottlenecks, and resolve performance-related problems.

Data Integration and ETL:

  • Develop and maintain ETL processes to import, clean, and transform data from various sources.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security throughout the ETL process.

Reporting and Analytics Support:

  • Create and support data models for business intelligence and reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and other stakeholders to provide ad-hoc and scheduled reports.

Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce database security measures to protect sensitive data.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry regulations related to data storage and access.

Documentation and Support:

  • Maintain thorough documentation for database structures, queries, and processes.
  • Provide technical support for database-related issues and train team members on database usage as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as an SQL Developer or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
  • Solid understanding of relational database management systems (e.g., MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with ETL tools and processes.
  • Knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based database platforms (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).
  • Knowledge of non-relational databases and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Apps to support database integrations and workflow automation.
  • Certification in database administration or SQL development is a plus.
  • Python programming would be a plus
