Technology - PC Network Summer Intern

Summary Description of Classification:

Responsible for assisting the BCSD technicians servicing the district’s technology in preparation for the 2023-2024 school year.  Performs a variety of technical tasks related to the installation, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of all components in the computer terminal network, including distributed processing equipment and related peripherals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Image computers throughout the district.
2. Deploy / install software.
3. Ensure OS, Application and GPO updates.
4. Troubleshoot and solve technology issues relating to classroom technologies, audio, and safe alerts.
5. Install, configure, inventory, maintain and repair computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
6. Setup, disassemble and palletize equipment.
7. Perform preventive maintenance procedures on computers and peripherals as needed.
8. Assist the network technicians completing any work or projects necessary to the technology ready for the upcoming school year.
9. Assist the network electronics team, network administrators and network engineers with any projects or work as requested.
10. Required to submit regular time sheets and daily work summaries.
11. All other duties assigned.

Education, Training and Experience:

1. Minimum high school graduate.
2. Current college student enrolled in a technology program/degree is desired.
3. Basic computer/network experience is a plus.

Salary/Terms/Benefits:

1. Intern dates are May 30^th – July 31^st 40 hours per week.
2. Normal workweek is 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Summer hours will be June 5^th – July 14^th in which we will work 10 hours a day, 4 days a week (Monday – Thursday).
3. Salary is $15.00 per hour. No benefits.
