About the Role:
The Furnace Development Program is a rotational program that trains engineers to become Furnace Leaders, Insulating Systems Business, and Composites Solutions Business. Participants will be mentored by experienced professionals to learn strategy and troubleshooting to enhance technical and leadership skills.
Duration: The program lasts 24 months.
What you’ll be doing:
- Use data analysis and problem-solving skills in decision making.
- Acquire Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge in raw materials, batch, glass, melting, furnace operations, fiberizing.
- Lead in safety and process-specific safety.
- Maintain plant standards of work and conduct audits.
- Solve complex problems to develop, evaluate, and implement solutions.
Outcome: Graduate a melting subject matter experts from supplier, to weighing of raw materials, to application of energy, to melting stability & delivery of melted glass where product fiberized. At completion of the program, you are placed in a full-time assignment as a Furnace Engineer or Leader at a manufacturing plant.

Key Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Ceramic, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or relevant major and/or field
- Previous internships/co-ops in a manufacturing setting
- Demonstrated leadership in professional, service, or social organizations
Compensation:
The salary for the role is $70,000- $80,000
