Our direct client is looking for a MS Access and SQL Server Developer for a Hybrid contract position (client is in Concord, NH)

IMPORTANT NOTE :

  • The IDEAL candidate will be available to work in a hybrid schedule with 2-3 days onsite work weekly (exact weekly schedule to be worked out between client / selected resource). Client will consider fully remote work for a strong candidate, however, local candidates who are willing to work in a hybrid role will be given preference.
  • LOCAL Candidates submitted are expected to be able to attend an in-person interview if selected to interview for the role.
  • All candidates must have a experience of database and database application upgrade and support, with front-end applications and back-end support. Do not submit them if they do not meet the minimum requirements listed.
  • REFERENCES - Please send a Word document that includes contact info for THREE professional references. These references must be supervisory references from past employment, and at least one of the three must be a supervisor from employment where the candidate worked in a role similar to what is being requested for this position. References must include the full name, phone number, and email address for the reference
  • These roles support the NH Fish & Game Dept - candidates MUST be comfortable working in an environment that supports and encourages hunting, fishing, trapping, wildlife management, and shares a building work area with Law Enforcement. This includes a physical office environment that may be decorated and housing taxidermy mounts and animal pelts. Ensure you discuss this environment with your candidate BEFORE submitting them. If they are not comfortable working in this environment, DO NOT SUBMIT THEM.

Job Description :

Client is in need of 2 resources skilled in MS Access / MS SQL application development and support to work with the current development team to support and upgrade the current portfolio of critical agency applications.

Selected resource will be responsible for working with the current development team to support and upgrade the current portfolio of critical agency applications with the potential to transition into the development leadership role.

Specifically, you will :

  • Work closely with the current agency development team to update the portfolio of applications from the MS Access project file format (ADP) to MS Access database file (ACCDB) and from MS SQL Server 2008 to MS SQL Server 2016 or higher.
  • Contribute to the determination of the future technical path for the agency application portfolio.
  • Help maintain best practices for documentation and code management.
  • Work closely with our internal developers and service providers to ensure the applications are stable and reliable.
  • Work to provide our customers with the best transformation experience possible.
  • What is required :

  • Strong technical skills in MS Access and MS SQL Server based application development and support, to include end user support of applications.
  • Skills in developing complex VBA scripts.
  • Strong communication and collaboration with both IT peers and agency personnel of varying levels of technical knowledge.

Internet cost and any additional equipment beyond the state-provided laptop that is desired by candidate is at candidate's own expense and will not be reimbursed by CAI or the Client. Please confirm you have discussed these requirements with the candidate and they accept the requirements.

    Question 8 : Candidates must be located within the US, must be legally able to work in the US, and remote candidates must be able to work on the State of NH's Eastern Time Zone business hours. The candidate must be able to participate in web / video meetings as needed while remote.
