Position Overview:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a pivotal role in shaping the workforce by identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent to meet the strategic needs of the organization. This role involves developing recruitment strategies, managing the full-cycle recruitment process, and collaborating with department managers to meet staffing goals effectively. The ideal candidate is passionate about building relationships, has strong sourcing skills, and excels in providing a positive candidate experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaboration and Strategy:

· Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring needs and develop recruitment plans.

· Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and competitive hiring strategies.

· Analyze recruitment metrics to assess the effectiveness of strategies and suggest improvements.

2. Sourcing and Candidate Identification:

· Source potential candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media, referrals, and networking events.

· Develop and maintain a talent pipeline for current and future hiring needs.

· Create and manage job advertisements to attract a diverse pool of candidates.

3. Screening and Selection:

· Screen resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates.

· Conduct initial interviews to assess candidates’ skills, experience, and cultural fit.

· Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers and other stakeholders.

4. Candidate Experience:

· Build strong relationships with candidates to ensure a seamless and positive recruitment experience.

· Participate in employer branding initiatives, including job fairs, university recruitment, and networking events.

· Provide timely feedback to candidates and maintain clear communication throughout the recruitment process.

5. Systems, Compliance and Reporting:

· Maintain and manage applicant tracking systems (ATS) to track candidate progress and ensure compliance with hiring standards.

· Ensure recruitment practices comply with labor laws, federal contractor requirements, including OFCCP guidelines, and organizational policies.

· Manage hiring processes for both union and non-union roles, ensuring compliance with CBAs and organizational policies.

· Collaborate with labor relations, leadership and HR teams to ensure recruitment practices align with collective bargaining agreements.

· Assist in preparing and maintaining documentation for audits and reporting purposes.

6. Additional Responsibilities:

· Flexibility to perform other assigned tasks to support the overall business objectives, while proactively seeking opportunities for continuous learning and professional development.

· Stay informed on industry trends, compliance updates (e.g., labor laws, CBAs, and OFCCP regulations), and best practices in talent acquisition, providing insights to enhance strategies and policies.

· Contribute to cross-functional initiatives, such as diversity hiring programs or process improvement projects, to drive recruitment efficiency and align with organizational goals.

· Foster partnerships with external vendors, professional organizations, and educational institutions to strengthen talent pipelines.


Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills & Attributes):

· Proven experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist or similar role.

· Strong knowledge of full cycle recruiting and applicant tracking systems (ATS), Paylocity preferred.

· Proficiency in recruitment marketing and sourcing techniques, including social media recruiting and Boolean searches.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Strong organizational and time management skills.

· Familiarity with labor laws and regulations related to recruiting.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience recruiting for specialized or technical roles.

· Knowledge of employer branding strategies and initiatives.

· Experience with data-driven recruitment strategies and proficiency in using analytics tools.

· Familiarity with federal contractor compliance, including OFCCP guidelines and EEO regulations.

· Experience in recruiting within unionized environments and familiarity with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs).

· Understanding of the differences and complexities in hiring for union versus non-union positions.


Physical Requirements:
