Key Responsibilities
- Project Scheduling: Develop, maintain, optimize, and monitor project schedules for distribution engineering projects, including tasks, timelines, resources, and dependencies. Ensure schedule alignment with project timelines, resource availability, and key milestones.
- Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to obtain required data and feedback for accurate schedule planning.
- Tracking & Reporting: Continuously track project progress and ensure all milestones and deadlines are met. Provide regular status reports and escalate potential delays or issues to the project team.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze schedules, identify variances, and recommend data-driven solutions. Maintain and update scheduled work, resolving time constraint conflicts and monitoring schedule variances.
- Resource Management: Ensure efficient allocation of resources, both human and material, to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Forecasting: Work with project managers to forecast project timelines, resource needs, and critical path adjustments, adjusting schedules as needed.
- Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain all schedule-related documentation, including revisions and updates. Ensure that project schedules are accurately communicated and understood by all stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks to project timelines and develop mitigation plans to address them proactively.
- Process Improvement: Continuously review and suggest improvements to scheduling processes and tools to enhance efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, construction, and quality assurance to ensure the successful execution of projects.
- Education: Associate Degree, Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent work experience in a related field preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, AACE) are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project scheduling or a related field, with a focus on distribution engineering projects or utility infrastructure projects.
- Software Proficiency: Strong experience with project scheduling software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar tools).
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of project management processes, including scope, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex schedule information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and manage project constraints effectively.
