The opportunity
TECKpert seeks to hire a Customer Support Technician to support our client, a government agency based in Tallahassee, FL. The ideal candidate will provide technical support for hardware and software issues, monitor and manage service desk tickets, and work collaboratively with a team to ensure all service level agreements are met. This role is critical to maintaining the efficient operation of workstation and networking devices, while also providing high-quality customer service.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Monitor the service desk queue and promptly resolve support tickets.
- Troubleshoot and restore routine technical service and equipment issues using established procedures.
- Install, configure, and maintain personal computers, peripheral equipment, and network devices.
- Document all work performed and solutions provided, ensuring detailed technical documentation is maintained.
- Perform root cause analysis and create checklists for recurring issues.
- Coordinate service calls and repairs, managing warranty and non-warranty items.
- Provide on-site technical support, including audio-visual and video conference equipment as needed.
- Collaborate with team members on projects such as PC Replacement, Memory Upgrade, and Operating System Upgrade Projects.
Compensation and Term
This opportunity is for a full-time, contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $20/hour or $41,600 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.
Candidates are expected to work onsite at one of our client’s location in Gainesville, FL.
Qualifications you need
A successful candidate possesses or provides the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of two (2) years of IT experience with working knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Experience with diagnosing and resolving technical issues in a service desk environment.
- Experience with technical documentation and call tracking systems.
- Familiarity with project coordination on IT-related initiatives.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information.
- Ability to work flexible hours between 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM and/or on Saturdays.
