The Opportunity
Our client, a government agency in Tallahassee, FL, is seeking an experienced GIS Developer to support their Application Services Office with the System of Engagement (SoE) for developing and deploying cloud-based solutions and GIS support. The selected candidate will work with ArcGIS Enterprise, SQL Server, and various GIS applications to optimize workflows and develop geospatial solutions.
Primary job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and deploy cloud-based GIS solutions for enterprise-wide integration.
- Provide technical GIS support for ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal & Server), ArcGIS Online, ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, and related extensions.
- Manage ArcGIS Portal content, users, and permissions.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize web-based GIS applications using ESRI WebApps, ArcGIS REST API, and JavaScript APIs.
- Perform SDE Geodatabase design and management in SQL Server.
- Migrate applications to the GIS Enterprise platform.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshoot GIS-related issues.
- Assist with metadata creation, GIS data governance, and process automation.
- Collaborate with business users, developers, and project managers to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Conduct performance tuning for ArcGIS applications, services, and databases.
Compensation and Term
This opportunity is for a full-time, contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $93,000 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.
Qualifications you need
A successful candidate has the following experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field
- A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in web-based GIS application development.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Portal management.
- Expertise in ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS for Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and GIS Extensions.
- Experience managing and optimizing SQL Server Geodatabases.
- Proficiency with GIS web technologies including ArcGIS REST API, ESRI JavaScript API, .NET Core, Angular, or MERN stack.
- Experience with Cloud-based GIS solutions and deployment strategies.
- Strong knowledge of GIS data governance, metadata creation, and map services.
- Experience in GIS application migrations and system upgrades.
- Experience supporting transportation-related GIS applications.
- Proficiency in Mongo, Express, React, or Node JS (MERN).
- Familiarity with AASHTOWare systems.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple teams to develop and test GIS applications.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
