OVERVIEW
The Carpenter 2 role is integral to both the Carpentry team and Tectonic Design Builds brand. This role requires a comprehensive carpentry skill set to complete projects from beginning to end, in addition to mentoring those who are still developing these skills. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools, complemented by a minimum of four to six years of experience in residential construction. This position requires close collaboration with supervisors, project managers, and fellow carpenters to carry out framing, trim work, cabinetry, and other wood-related construction tasks, all while upholding superior craftsmanship and strict adherence to safety standards.
The pay range for a Carpenter 2 is $30-$35 per hour, commensurate with experience.

DESCRIPTION
General Carpentry Work:
- Perform rough and finish carpentry tasks, including deconstruction, framing, cabinetry, and final hardware trim out.
- Install doors, windows, baseboards, crown molding, and other finishing elements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Structural Work & Framing:
- Construct, repair, and install wood and other building materials for residential structures.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials with precision.
- Assist in erecting, leveling, and securing framework using hand and power tools.
- Collaboration & Coordination:
- Work with project managers and site supervisors to ensure project goals and deadlines are met.
- Coordinate with electricians, plumbers, and other subcontractors as necessary.
- Provide guidance and assistance to entry-level carpenters and apprentices.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all safety procedures and OSHA regulations while operating power tools and equipment.
- Ensure a clean and organized work area to prevent hazards and accidents.
- Conduct safety inspections on tools, materials, and job sites.
- Material Handling & Inventory Management:
- Select, measure, and mark materials for cutting and assembly.
- Maintain inventory of necessary tools and materials for assigned tasks.
- Report shortages, damaged materials, or needed replacements to the supervisor.
- Quality Control & Problem-Solving:
- Assess and repair defective or damaged structures or fixtures.
- Identify and troubleshoot construction issues and work with the team to find solutions.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and client specifications.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years relevant experience, including diverse skill set in remodeling and new home residential construction
- Proficiency of above mentioned carpentry techniques, methods of installation, and construction systems
- Ability to safely operate power tools and hand tools such as: Table saw, Miter saw, Track saw, Planer, Router
- Demonstrate safe working habits and knowledge of safety rules and instructions while performing job functions
- Follow direction of supervisors, while also thinking critically and independently about jobsite needs (i.e., cleaning up when not asked; noting low inventory; re-measuring; etc.)
- Advanced construction math competency
- Meticulous and methodical approach to production
- Excellent communication skills
- Technologically literate, including but not limited to:
- Familiarity with Google Suite: Gmail, Cal, Drive, Docs, Chat
- Familiarity with BuilderTrend and Slack
